What is Hacking? (Part 5) β Common Attack Vectors
Hacking targets multiple layers of technology.
Network attacks focus on insecure protocols, exposed services, weak firewall rules, and poor segmentation.
Web application attacks exploit flaws such as SQL injection, cross-site scripting (XSS), insecure authentication, and broken access control.
System-level attacks target operating systems, services, permissions, and kernel vulnerabilities.
One of the most effective attack vectors is social engineering. Many successful attacks require no technical exploit at allβonly manipulation of human behavior. Phishing remains one of the most dangerous and common attack methods worldwide.
Technology can be secured, but humans are unpredictable.
